MARRYING MYSELF, CRAZY?

You cannot imagine what people have done in their life times… Some things good, some bad; others, just plain weird. You know, we live in a strange time, where some people are more famous through the web than normal “stars”, where there’s a freedom fight for EVERYTHING, where you heard the most absurd news you can imagine. Because you can wake up one day and hear just about anything, but… there is a bit of a line when the story came out about a man that married himself, you can imagine someone sitting down and saying “why not?” But what if it did happen. Would it be right or wrong? You can see, discover and analyze: who, what and how you are if you do.
As for Oliver, he knew what he was doing, he knew people would see him as a crazy man, but he went and did it anyhow. Due to the fact that it was a mid-life crisis he did it out of impulse, but lets see why would he have a mid-life crisis. When you’re in that type of situation, you feel like there’s a part of life that’s stuck and don’t want to accept some changes. Some of us have felt this way, and it’s normal, but we must sit down and see our options, some may be inconvenient, others right choices and the others plain weird. Investigate “who am I?”, sometimes we must make those weird choices, like alas, marrying yourself.
In other words, investigating who you are you may see what you are, and how can you either accept or modify yourself. Oliver surely noticed when he met the Malayan girl what he liked, and before that, when he wanted to divorce himself, he knew what he wanted in life. We must first self-discover our pro’s and con’s, leading to the decision of either I stay like this or I change. Surely it might have been satirical way it was displayed but he did self investigate what he liked, wanted and needed.
Definitely “How are you?” is a typical question we get asked daily, we hear it but we don’t sit down and ask “How am I?” in a more in-depth way. Someone can seem bright, happy and dandy but is actually sad, aggressive and lonely, that’s how they really are. We somehow get a glimpse on how sad Oliver is when he marries himself and how stuck in life he is to the point he didn’t know what to do. Analyzing this we get to the point where we start to get self-aware of these inquiries. Surely not all of you might marry yourself, lets be honest that sounds depressing… but it is important to see and learn from what Oliver went through.
In conclusion it might have been a rushed decision but it wasn’t a bad one, he was in his own, unorthodox journey on discovering himself, who he was, what he was and how he was; that the last one has a clear answer. Nevertheless, we can learn a thing or two from the story, on our journey to self-discovery and how can we move forward from our crisis. To which it isn’t a bad idea, it’s a weird one but not terrible.
